Joan is my sister. She started to get the photography bug seriously about 20 years ago, using an old olympus pen-e half-frame camera... got her SLR (film) camera in the mid 90's. She has since gone digital, loves the freedom of her new camera.


Much of Joan's work is outdoors, living on a farm and working as a gardener & landscaper for several people, much of her artistic eye is also focused on the outdoors, rural life, and also Bark Lake, which has always been a great part of our lives. Joan is also a musician, and I like to think of her photography as a visual accompaniment to the music she loves to play; from classical to traditional celtic to folk, blues & more... a Vivaldi sunset to a garden reel to 'Long and Winding Road', her photography work has rhythm, pattern, sense of space & peace that I admire very much.


I hope to update her pages again soon, since she does not have internet it takes us a little longer to post up work.
